The following is the solution for the hunt. Enjoy !
It should have been fairly obvious how to get there. If you looked at the sign around the hippo's neck, it said www.torontohippotours.com. A quick search would show they are located on the south east corner of Simcoe and Front.
This clue helped you know where on a wall you should look for the brick, eventually...
Roy Thompson Hall should be a fairly identifiable landmark. However, where the photo was taken from was vitally important. In this case, the photo was taken from the south side of Roy Thompson Hall on the south side of Wellington.
This clue told you that the order of the clues was important. Good to know!
Hmmm. The CN Tower. Very obvious what the picture is of, a little more tricky figuring out where the picture was taken from. However, the angle the picture was taken from and the crane and building in the foreground should help you figure out that the photo was taken from the north side of Pearl Street, about halfway between Duncan and Simcoe.
This could have been a challenging photo. Two things to notice from the photo is the "Metro Concourse" on the window on the left and the street vendor is called "toronto a la ca". Well not ca, more likely "toronto a la cart".
The street sign shows this is somewhere on Duncan. This is a fairly short street to be able to figure out where on Duncan it is.
Coupled with clue #7, you know it is on Duncan and across from Crocodile Rock. A quick search shows Crocodile Rock is at 240 Adelaide Street West. You now know this photo was taken at the corner of Duncan and Adelaide.
This is where you need to put everything together. You've just been told that one of the photos was meant to lead you off the trail. If you were to plot the clues on a map, this is what you would have:
It seems that clue #5 has indeed lead you off the trail.
This was the last clue and it said "think bread crumbs".
If you ignore clue #5 that tried to lead you off the trail and you use clue #4 which said that the order of the clues was important and you plotted the locations on a map, you should see the brick you seek:
Sad that those women walked by $100.
